Microsoft Expands Copilot and AI Agent Capabilities in Power Apps
Microsoft has introduced new Copilot and AI agent capabilities in Power Apps, designed to help organizations use business applications intelligently. The updates enable developers and business users to embed AI-driven features directly into applications, including automation of workflows, data analysis and user interactions. Copilot can assist in building apps using natural language, while AI agents can perform tasks and respond to events within applications.
Key updates to Copilot provide users with efficient and effective ways to complete tasks, from AI-generated summarizing to receiving almost immediate answers to any questions that are grounded across the full breadth of the business and productivity data. Enhanced app skills offer data entry, exploration, visualization and summarization, generally available in Power Apps. App productivity is extended beyond the app itself into AI surfaces and agents for faster workflows.
The enhancements are intended to simplify development and allow organizations to create applications that can act on data and automate processes with minimal manual intervention, but still maintaining human oversight where it matters most. The tools integrate with the broader Power Platform ecosystem, including data and workflow services. Enterprises are increasingly using low-code platforms to accelerate application development and automate operations.
