Microsoft has added the GPT-5.5 Instant model to Microsoft 365 Copilot, expanding the generative AI capabilities available within its workplace productivity suite. The model is optimized for speed, enabling quicker responses for tasks such as summarizing documents, drafting content, analyzing spreadsheets and assisting with collaboration workflows. The update applies across Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams, to Microsoft 365 Copilot users with priority access.

The integration is intended to improve the responsiveness of Copilot experiences while supporting enterprise-scale workloads. GPT-5.5 Instant improves the quality of everyday work tasks designed to deliver more accurate and concise responses, with improved performance on image analysis and STEM-related tasks. Faster AI interactions are increasingly important as organizations embed generative AI into daily operations and employee workflows. Microsoft 365 Copilot licensed users will receive priority access to GPT-5.5 Instant, while users without a Microsoft 365 Copilot license will have standard access.
