Microsoft Adds Gemma 4 Model Support to Azure AI Foundry
Microsoft has added support for the Gemma 4 model in Azure AI Foundry, expanding the set of models available for enterprise AI development. The integration allows developers to access and deploy Gemma 4 within Foundry’s platform, which provides tools for building, testing and managing AI applications. The addition, through a collaboration with Hugging Face, is intended to give organizations more flexibility in selecting models that fit specific performance, cost and use case requirements. Gemma 4's combination of multimodal input, agentic functions and long context offers users document intelligence, multilingual enterprise apps and long-context analytics.
Gemma 4, released by Google DeepMind, is built on the same research that is the core of Gemini 3, offering native multimodal capabilities, enhanced reasoning and coding, suitable for global deployment and allows developers to reason across extensive codebases or lengthy documents with long context capabilities.
Azure AI Foundry is designed to unify model access, data integration and application development into a single environment. By adding support for models such as Gemma 4, Microsoft aims to support a broader range of AI workloads across industries. Enterprises are increasingly adopting multi-model strategies to balance cost, performance and governance requirements. The addition of Gemma 4 signals Microsoft's commitment to bringing customers the widest selection of models from any cloud.
