Paul Zocco’s employer is the state association for the 24 independent United Way of Connecticut offices and partners with other groups to maximize the quality of human services. The most direct way it achieves the latter is through the management and operation of Infoline/2-1-1, a single source for information about community services, referrals to human services and crisis intervention.

Listen as Paul relays the challenges of implementing Infoline/2-1-1, an innovative statewide help-by-telephone service now being adopted nationwide by other non-profit organizations. Plus, he discusses the unique difficulty of maintaining knowledgeable staff at a non-profit organization. Paul A. Zocco, MCSE, is director of information systems, overseeing all of the computer, network and telecommunication systems at the United Way in Connecticut. Paul helped design and install Infoline/2-1-1, the United Way of Connecticut’s always-available information and referral service.
