Microsoft Adds Dynamic Thresholds to Azure Monitor for Log Search Alerts
Microsoft has introduced Dynamic thresholds for Log search alerts in Azure Monitor, adding built-in anomaly detection capabilities designed to reduce the effort required to configure and maintain monitoring rules. The feature automatically establishes normal behavior patterns from historical log data and generates alerts when activity deviates from expected levels.
The update allows Azure Monitor to automatically determine the right threshold for each alert rule, offering simplified configuration, adaptive monitoring and at-scale intelligence. Dynamic thresholds for Log search alerts are available at no extra charge; users pay the standard log search alert rule rate.
According to Microsoft, the capability is intended to help administrators identify operational issues, application problems and infrastructure anomalies without relying on static thresholds that often require frequent adjustment. Dynamic thresholds can adapt to changing usage patterns, helping reduce false positives while improving the detection of unexpected events.
