Microsoft Updates Copilot Studio with Governance and Workflow Enhancements

Microsoft has introduced updates to Copilot Studio aimed at improving governance, workflow automation and connected application experiences for enterprise AI deployments. The enhancements provide organizations with expanded controls for managing AI agents, including oversight capabilities designed to help enforce policies and maintain visibility into how agents operate across business systems. The updates also introduce improvements to workflow orchestration, allowing organizations to automate more complex, multi-step business processes. Included in the update is clear cost visibility, with validated workflows that are scalable with built-in governance.

Built on Copilot Studio, Copilot Chat uses built in agents to turn intent into action. Along with these updates, Studio now offers custom metrics, Work IQ API, agent-to-agent communication and GPT-5.5 Thinking.

Microsoft said the platform now supports deeper integration with connected applications, enabling AI agents and workflows to interact more effectively with enterprise data and productivity tools. The goal is to help organizations build AI-powered processes while maintaining operational and governance controls.
