The Sum of All Security Guidance

During a presentation at Microsoft TechEd 2005 this month, the Microsoft Security Response Center summarized all of the most important Microsoft security resources available to IT and consumers.

Stephen Toulouse, security program manager for the Microsoft Security Business and Technology Unit, pulled the list together for a presentation on the MSRC. While none of the items is new, the list is a strong refresher to help organizations ensure they're making the most of the resources Microsoft has available.

Toulouse's list:

  • Sign up to receive security updates, notifications via e-mail, instant message, mobile devices or RSS.
  • Download and deploy security updates (Microsoft Download Center, Windows Update)
  • Report security vulnerabilities through [email protected]
  • Attend the monthly TechNet Security Bulletin Webcast.
  • Review information and guidelines on the Microsoft TechNet Security site.
