Xtore released the XN WSS series of network-attached storage devices that support Windows Storage Server 2003, including Volume Shadow Copy Service and Virtual Disk Service; also supports integration with existing storage resources, storage area networks and IP storage pools. An entry-level tower or 1U 4-bay rackmount system with 1 TB capacity starts at $3,000 and $4,100.

Kerio Technologies' Kerio MailServer 6 allows users to receive e-mail, synchronize contacts and view calendar events through the most corporate e-mail Mac and Windows clients and Internet browsers. It supports Active Directory and Microsoft Caller ID anti-spam technology. It's $449 for a base license that includes 20 mail boxes.

Configuresoft Security Update Manager 2.5 has been enhanced with integration with ECM Remote for automatic patching of mobile devices; automatic synchronization of remote patch distribution points; an enhanced reporting capability, with automatic creation of new reports for newly released bulletins, patch deployment history and on-demand assessment of single machines. Pricing starts at $25/server, $5/workstation.

Executive Software has priced Undelete 4.0 for the consumer market. Home versions are $29.95; corporate versions retail for $39.99/workstation, $299.95/server.

Infoblox RADIUS One is a new network identity appliance that centralizes role-based firewall filtering by sorting incoming network traffic based on user identity and corresponding access rights anywhere on a distributed network.

NetTogether Presenter SM, virtual conferencing software aimed at customer help desk and call center operations, adds scheduling and meeting notices and an optional telephone conferencing feature. NetTogether requires no downloads or software plug-ins by either the presenter or caller.

Server Central, the hosted application service company, has added eight new dedicated server packages, with up to 3.0 GHz processors and memory options starting at 512MB. They've also added bandwidth allocations ranging from 600GB to 1400GB per server and select RAID and SCSI options on some server packages.

Softricity announced SoftGrid Enterprise Edition, an application management platform that uses virtualization technology to create utility computing environments. It turns Windows applications into virtual services that can be centrally configured, managed, and deployed on-demand to desktop, laptops and servers. It supports more than 1,000 concurrent connections on a single-processor SoftGrid Virtual Application Server. It's approximately $15,000, with pricing based on concurrent users.

Ambeo's Data Access Auditing provides data privacy assurance compliance support for a large number of database applications, including Oracle, Teradata and SQL Server.

Pragma Systems' Pragma Fortress suite provides a suite of products and access for protecting large deployments of Windows-based enterprises and supports HIPAA and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. Fortress integrates with Active Directory NTLM authentication. Fortress Server is $399-$699; Client is $49; Fortress for Handhelds is $99.

NetPro Computing released ChangeAuditor for Active Directory, which tracks, audits, reports, and alerts on the changes that impact the directory, including GPO and Schema to critical group and operational changes.

Integrated Research has launched PROGNOSIS IP Telephony Assessor, software that's used to assess a network's readiness to deploy VoIP. It simulates, records and analyzes VoIP traffic in real-time and over time, and measures and reports on pre- and post-implementation traffic and load.

Fortinet has released FortiLog and FortiReporter Security Analyzer, which offers auditing and reporting of geographically distributed security devices that are protected by FortiGate Antivirus Firewalls; the reports are complaint with the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act.

Altiris has integrated its centralized PC health monitoring software into Hewlett-Packard's HP Systems Insight Manager and HP Client Manager Software 6.0; it's provided free to HP customers.;

InstallShield announced InstallShield X Express Edition, an entry-level version of its packaging suite. Express features a compact installer, the ability to notify users of application updates, and support for Windows, Linux, and Palm OSes; $399.

CBT Nuggets released training videos for Exchange Server 2003 and Outlook 2003 that map to corresponding Microsoft exams.
