70-228 SQL Server Admin Exam Goes Live Jan. 25

MCSE elective, MCDBA core exam considered "challenging."

Up next on the exam release schedule is 70-228 Installing, Configuring, and Administering Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition exam. The exam covers basic creation, installation, configuration, troubleshooting and upgrading from SQL 7.0, but Microsoft recommends that you have at least one year of proficiency with SQL before you attempt the exam. Anil Desai, our resident SQL Server expert, who calls this exam "challenging, overall," vouches for Microsoft's claim in his upcoming review of that exam in the March 2001 issue (on line Feb. 27).

Registration for the exam begins Jan. 24. To read the exam objectives, go to http://www.microsoft.com/trainingandservices/exams/examasearch.asp?PageID=70-228.
