Snap Appliances Launches NAS Servers

Snap Appliances Inc. announced its next generation of NAS servers with enhanced customization capabilities through Java support.

The implementation by Snap of Insignia’s technology leverages the Java platform to enable independent and enterprise software developers to customize the Snap Server 4100 into a specialized application appliance, such as a database server.

The Snap Server 4100 has capacities of 120 and 240 GB in a 1U form factor, supports workgroups of 150 or more users, and offers support for RAID levels 5,1, and 0.
