InstallShield Launches Professional Edition

InstallShield Software Corp. released a new version of its installation authoring software for Windows Installer setups, InstallShield Professional – Windows Installer Edition 2.0.

The upgrade offers new advanced features, including powerful debugging and validation capabilities, advanced source code control integration, and significant ease of use enhancements.

Key features include MSI Debugger, which lets authors step through the installation actions and user dialogs to verify display sequences and property values to identify trouble spots; InstallScript functions, which help manage components using custom actions; dynamic scanning wizard; and enhanced project validation.

Windows Installer Edition supports Windows 2000, NT 4.0, and 95/98, as well as Windows Me and the System Restore functionality and Windows Installer Service 1.2.
