NetScreen Technologies Inc. has expanded its line of security appliances with its NetScreen-1000.

The NetScreen-1000 is an appliance for creating firewalls and VPNs using the new IPSec standard. The appliance supports 1000 Gigabit transmission, making it suitable for large enterprises and internet data centers.

Earlier NetScreen appliances were designed for the client ends of VPNs. The NetScreen-1000 marks NetScreen’s entry into the server side of security.
