OMG to Host EAI Workshop

The Object Management Group (OMG) will host its first Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) Workshop from February 7 to February 10 in Orlando, Florida.

The workshop is being sponsored by BEA Systems (www.bea.com), Concept 5 Technologies (www.concept5.com), Genesis Development Corp. (www.gendev.com), Hitachi Ltd. (www.hitachi.com), and PeerLogic Inc. (www.peerlogic.com), and will feature several tutorials and open discussions of case studies and technology choices. The workshop is designed to bring together communities of EAI product builders, middleware builders, and users of integration technology across the enterprise.

Highlights of the workshop will include "Introduction to EAI," "OMG Meta-data Standards, including UML, MOF, XMI, and CWM," "Inter-Enterprise EAI," and a CORBA tutorial. The implementers' roundtable and users' roundtable will each include panelists presenting case studies on EAI, and both will be moderated by Paul Harmon, senior consultant with Cutter Consortium & Distributed Architecture Service.

The OMG (www.omg.org) is a coalition of software vendors, developers, and end users who promote the theory and practice of object technology for the development of distributed computing systems. The OMG is well known for its contributions to CORBA and the unified modeling language. -- Isaac Slepner
