Microsoft Adds Security Features to Exchange

Microsoft Corp. today announced that Service Pack 3 for Exchange Server 5.5, including security enhancements, is available immediately for free download.

Service Pack 3 is a cumulative release that contains all updates for Microsoft Exchange Server to date. Microsoft is recommending customers apply it as soon as possible.

Included in SP3 are new features, such as Mailbox Manager Service and an Anti-Virus Interface so customers can plug in anti-virus software, allowing them to scan for viruses. The full package now includes Microsoft Outlook 2000. SP3 also contains several previously released tools for migration and coexistence including Importer for Lotus cc: Mail Archives, Lotus Notes Connector, IBM Office Vision/VM Connector, SNADS Connector and Exchange Calendar Connector.
