New Windows 2008 Exam Betas Available

Microsoft beta tests three TS-level exams until Dec. 21.

With the release of Windows 2008 in about two months, Microsoft's Learning group has been quick to release exams related to the upcoming network OS. The group just this week released three more Technology Specialist-level exams in beta form. This, according to a blog posting last week from Microsoft Learning Group marketing manager Trika Harms zum Spreckel.

Currently up for beta testing at Thomson Prometric centers until Dec. 21 are the following:

Besides counting toward a TS certification, all three exams can be used as credit toward the higher level MCITP: Enterprise Administrator and MCITP: Server Administrator titles, according to the exam objective guides for those exams. Details for those new titles have not been posted on the Microsoft Web site as of this writing.

Microsoft Learning is currently developing courses and self-study titles, which will be available next year.

Beta exams are free and by invitation only. The live versions of the exams will be $125US, with regional pricing worldwide.

Windows 2008 is expected to be released officially on Feb. 28, 2008, as part of launch event highlighting other Microsoft technologies.
