Microsoft Updates .NET Security Bulletin

Microsoft on Thursday updated an important security bulletin released last month for the .NET Framework to report problems users have encountered after installing the patch.

Bulletin MS05-004 was released Feb. 8 to correct an information disclosure and possible elevation of privilege vulnerability affecting the 1.0 and 1.1 versions of the Microsoft .NET Framework. Although the vulnerability isn't critical, it is one of those rare cases that was already being exploited by attackers before Microsoft released its security bulletin.

According to a Knowledge Base article referenced in the security bulletin update, KB887219, users ran into problems after installing the patch including a slowdown in ASP.NET performance and error messages while browsing or debugging ASP.NET applications.
