Microsoft Teams Adds AI, Meetings and Collaboration Updates in March Release
Microsoft has outlined its March 2026 updates for Microsoft Teams, highlighting new artificial intelligence capabilities, meeting improvements and collaboration enhancements. The updates include expanded Copilot functionality to assist with meeting summaries, task tracking and message management. The AI features are designed to automate everyday tasks using Copilot with no coding required. Teams also automatically removes EXIF metadata from shared images, protecting privacy and location information.
Microsoft also introduced improvements to meetings and calling, including enhanced controls and performance updates aimed at supporting hybrid work scenarios. Additional collaboration features focus on chat, channels and shared workspaces, with updates intended to streamline communication across teams. Enhanced chat and collaboration features allow users to view and manage activity in other accounts with enhanced organization charts in profile cards. Users can also easily find unsent drafts, with live meeting indicators and image viewer improvements.
Microsoft Teams remains a central component of the Microsoft 365 collaboration platform, used widely for messaging, meetings and workflow coordination. As organizations continue to support distributed workforces, vendors are adding AI-driven features and usability improvements to help users manage communication and collaboration across multiple channels.
