HP Announces 9.1 GB Magneto-Optical Jukebox

Hewlett-Packard Co. announced the latest generation of HP Surestore Magneto-Optical jukebox products, a complete line of 9.1 GB-based (14x) MO jukeboxes and a single-drive desktop unit.

The jukeboxes range in capacity from 9.1 GB in a desktop unit to nearly 2.2 TB in a high-end model. The jukeboxes are fully scalable, and are backward compatible by reading all previous generations of industry standard 5.25” MO media and writing back two generations.
