ManageEngine Adds Single Sign-On to SaaS Apps
IT systems management provider ManageEngine this week released a new tool that provides single sign-on access to software-as-a-service (SaaS) apps including Google Apps and Office 365. The company's new ADSelfService Plus offers password management and allows for the provisioning of single logon access to apps using Active Directory credentials.
The company said ADSelfService Plus lets organizations automate the process of basic password and credential management. It includes a Web-based portal that lets employees automatically reset their passwords and it issues reminders when the passwords expire. The self-service function aims to remove those tasks from IT help desks. The new tool also can synchronize passwords across platforms and provides search capability.
ManageEngine, which offers a broad set of IT help desk, Active Directory and network, server and app management tools, joins a wide field of providers that offer single sign-on capabilities ranging from major players such as Microsoft, Google, Salesforce.com and VMware, to number of players that specialize in identity and access management (IAM) tools including Centrify, OneLogin, Okta and PingIdentity, among others.
The ADSelfService offering provides authentication using Active Directory domain password policies that can be applied to all applications, according to the company. The single sign-on capability also works for applications that don't support SAML and provides password management for iOS and Android-based devices. The company offers a free edition for shops with fewer than 50 users. The professional edition, which can manage up to 500 user accounts, costs $595 per year.
