New Security Exam Down the Road

Microsoft adds new security exam to MCSA/MCSE on Windows 2003 tracks, but keeps mum on details.

Microsoft has quietly added a new security exam to its roster of electives for the MCSA/MCSE on Windows 2003 tracks. The company has yet to offer any details on how the new exam, 70-299: Implementing and Administering Security in a Windows Server 2003 Network, figures into its plans for possible upcoming certifications or specialties, beyond listing it within the new elective requirements for the current Windows 2003 tracks. The company also hasn't listed any self-study resources for the new exam.

At the same time, Microsoft added an Exchange Server 2003 exam to the list of electives; see "First Exchange Server 2003 Exam Announced" in News.

Company representatives hadn't responded to questions relating to development of both exams.
