Heroix Updates RoboMon

Heroix Corp. updated its flagship Windows 2000 and Windows NT monitoring product this week with support for BEA WebLogic, IBM DB2, Sybase and Novell NetWare.
The latest version is Heroix RoboMon v7.6D, and existing users can upgrade by downloading a service pack. For new customers, the product costs $695.
Heroix positions RoboMon as a monitoring tool that can automatically detect server and database issues before they affect users in the form of slow application response or application failures.
The support for IBM DB2 and Sybase databases adds to Heroix' existing support for SQL Server and Oracle databases. Heroix also handled some other e-commerce and middleware, including Microsoft Site Server 3.0 and Site Server, Commerce Edition as well as Windows 2000 Terminal Services and Windows Load Balancing.
The addition of support for BEA's WebLogic represents a step into new territory -- major name application servers. RoboMon checks WebLogic for security breach indicators, such as malformed URLs and invalid login attempts, and performance issues, such as Guest Account activity, excessive memory use and slow servlets.
The new, integrated support for Novell NetWare allows RoboMon to monitor basic server operations, performance criteria and operational alarms.
Heroix also unveiled a new release of its RoboER emergency access and repair software. RoboER provides entry into Windows NT or Windows 2000 systems via a network connection or serial connection without use of the Windows GUI. New to version 2.3A is the capability of being configured directly from the RoboMon interface.
