Zero Trust Is Hot: Here's What It Is (and What It Is Not)
Date: Friday, April 8th at 9 a.m. PT / 12 noon ET
“I have issues. Everyone has Issues. But right now among IT professionals, consultants, pundits and influencers there is no issue which is more confusing than “Zero Trust”. It’s “not bad” nor is it “good” but it is a thing that organizations are trying to make sense of. Do we need it? It’s part of NIST! Do we have to shell out for expensive solutions like an EDR, SOAR or CDN solution to achieve it? In the early days of Zero Trust becoming both an internet Meme and a marketing plan at the very same time - I took a look at it and what I saw was opportunity, confusion, obscurity and a departure from the IT lived experience.
Join me, Ian Thornton-Trump for my thoughts, feelings, emotions and raw survival instincts of looking at the latest and greatest “Zero Trust” approaches and finding that they may not hold up to “the real” world of IT unless - a lot of work, a lot of effort and money is readily available. “Zero Trust is not something you simply turn on.”
