Hiring Certified Professionals a High Priority

Lockheed Martin provides research, design, development, manufacture and integration of advanced technology systems, products and services for civilian government, defense and commercial customers. In 2001, the company boasted worldwide sales of $24 billion. It currently employs 125,000 people.

Daranee Payattakool, a senior system engineer and team lead at the defense contracting firm, leads a team of 19 systems administrators who manage more than 500 Windows servers and more than 400 Unix servers for the Department of Defense. She's also overseeing the effort to upgrade 250 application servers to Windows 2000.

In this Webcast, Daranee explains why Microsoft certification is of the highest priority when Lockheed Martin hires new systems administrators. Daranee Payattakool, MCSE, Lotus Notes CLP, is a senior systems engineer and team lead at Lockheed Martin in Los Angeles. She earned her Bachelor of Science in computer engineering and masters degree in computer science from Georgia Tech University.
