Samsung Releases Windows Mobile PC with LTE
Samsung Electronics America Inc. on Friday began selling a Snapdragon-based 2-in-1 mobile PC with LTE support for always-on connectivity.
The Samsung Galaxy Book2 is now available for $1,000 at AT&T, Microsoft.com and Samsung.com. The device will be coming to Sprint and Verizon later this month.
"By building out our 2-in-1 portfolio and adding LTE connectivity, we're ensuring consumers can stay connected on the mobile computing device that's perfect for them to get more done and express their creativity," said Alanna Cotton, senior vice president and general manager at Samsung Electronics America, in a statement about the Galaxy Book2 and a related Chromebook device called the Samsung Chromebook Plus (LTE).
The Galaxy Book2 is being sold as a consumer device and ships with Windows 10 in S Mode, but Samsung is emphasizing its capability as a work device. The company is claiming up to 20 hours of battery life in S Mode.
Other features include a 12-inch display, a weight of 1.75 pounds, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 850 chipset, 4GB of memory, 128GB of storage, dual cameras, two USB-C ports, wireless support and an included pen and keyboard.
