Microsoft's new president of the Server and Tools Business Division answered some cloud questions today at the GigaOM Structure event, which is happening today and tomorrow in San Francisco.
Microsoft upgraded its free consumer-oriented Windows Live SkyDrive personal cloud storage and file-sharing service on Monday.
According to a newly released forecast by IDC, the IT segment is projected to grow its spending in public cloud services by a compound annual growth rate of 27.6 percent over the next four years.
Tapping unified communications (UC) services over a public cloud sounds like a good idea, but mid-to-large U.S. enterprises remain somewhat reluctant to go that route, according to an industry-commissioned study announced today.
