Microsoft FastTrack Support Extended to Microsoft 365 Defender Solutions
The Microsoft FastTrack support program has been extended to Microsoft 365 Defender products for certain qualified subscribers, Microsoft indicated this week.
FastTrack is an onboarding support program for qualifying organizations. It lends Microsoft or partner expertise on certain Microsoft solutions. The kind of help provided is just "a combination of verbal and written assistance and best practices," rather than a technician visiting a site, according this Microsoft FastTrack document description. Organizations still need to carry out the technical steps themselves, so FastTrack just gives advice.
The FastTrack program already provides support for things like Windows 10, Microsoft Edge and Microsoft 365 applications. What's new this week is support for Microsoft 365 Defender (formerly "Microsoft Threat Protection") solutions. Microsoft 365 Defender consists of four different enterprise security products, but Microsoft did a whole-scale rebranding of their names late last year.
Qualifying organizations can now get specific FastTrack help when using these Microsoft 365 Defender solutions:
- Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (formerly "Microsoft Defender Advanced Threat Protection") for endpoint protection and forensics
- Microsoft Defender for Identity (formerly "Azure Advanced Threat Protection") for finding compromised identities
- Microsoft Defender for Office 365 (formerly "Office 365 Advanced Threat Protection") for warding off phishing and e-mail attacks
- Microsoft Cloud App Security for assessing cloud-based app threats
To qualify for FastTrack, organizations will need at least 150 Microsoft 365 subscriptions. The FastTrack program available to most E3 and E5 plan subscribers, among others.
A list of eligible Microsoft 365 subscriptions for FastTrack can be found in this Microsoft document.
