MCDST Ugrade Exam Goes Live

Earlier this week, Microsoft put exam 70-621 up for general availability.

MCPs who already hold the Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician title can easily climb up the certification ladder to the new-generation certifications using one exam: 70-621 UPGRADE: Upgrading Your MCDST Certification to MCITP Enterprise Support. That exam went live earlier this week and can be taken at any Pearson Vue or Thomson Prometric testing center worldwide.

According to the exam objectives guide, MCDST title holdes planning to take the exam should have three to five years of experience as a tier 2 support technician and be familiar with managing and troubleshooting network and security issues relating to a Windows environment, including Windows Vista. The objectives guide also states that candidates also immediately fulfill requirements for two certifications: MCTS: Windows Vista Configuration and MCITP Enterprise Support.

Microsoft Press doesn't have plans to release an official training title related to this exam. Instead, the guide points to two other titles for which to obtain self-paced training:
