Capgemini Ramps up Microsoft Practice

Microsoft announced an expanded relationship with one of its major global systems integrators on Wednesday.

Capgemini Group, Microsoft and Capgemini's wholly-owned subsidiary Sogeti Group are jointly investing in marketing, demand generation and partner solutions. According to a joint statement, the investment will also provide technical and sales training on new Microsoft products for Capgemini and Sogeti architects, developers and consultants.

Paris-based Capgemini has 63,000 employees in offices around the world and had 2005 revenues of 6.953 billion euros. The company's alliance with Microsoft stretches back to 1997.

Areas of horizontal focus for the alliance will include security, compliance, mobility, server consolidation, infrastructure and application migrations to Windows, .NET-based Web services, enterprise application integration and outsourcing. Some of the outsourcing solutions will build on Exchange, SMS, MOM and Office Live Communications Server.
