Exam for SBS 2003 Goes Live

Exam 70-282, aimed at Small Business Server implementers, now available.

Microsoft has released Exam 70-282, Designing, Deploying, and Managing a Network Solution for a Small- and Medium-Sized Business on Monday, December 15. According to the exam objective guide (click here), the exam counts as an elective under the MCSE for Windows 2003 track.

Exam 70-282 is aimed at implementers of Windows networking software on small- and medium-sized businesses. Specifically, it targets those who do so using Microsoft Small Business Server 2003, which was recently released to the general public in October. For 70-282 training, Microsoft recommends Course 2395: Designing, Deploying, and Managing a Network Solution for a Small- and Medium-Sized Business. The three-day, instructor-led course is available worldwide at Microsoft Certified Technical Education Centers.

Microsoft officially announced the Small Business Server exam at the MCP TechMentor Conference in San Diego. (See "Small Business Server Gets First Exam" in the News archive for more info.) The exam fee varies by location, but the base price starts at US$125.
