HP Unveils Three ProLiant Rack Servers

HP updated its line of ProLiant-branded, Intel-based servers this week by making available a rack-dense, four-processor system and announcing a pair of 1U servers that will ship later this month. All three servers feature remote management and fault resilient technologies.

The four-way ProLiant DL580 includes integrated lights-out management technologies, HP's Advanced Memory Protection technology and hot-pluggable mirrored memory to allow customers to replace memory without taking the server down. Running Intel Xeon MP processors, the DL580 starts at $7,200.

The 1U DL360 is a two-way capable server running Intel Xeon DP processors, the new 533-MHz system bus, redundant power supplies, online spare memory and integrated lights-out management capabilities. The systems will start at $2,600 when they become available in mid-December.

A lower end 1U model, the ProLiant DL320, will also ship in mid-December starting at $1,500. The DL320 is one-way only and ships with a Pentium 4 rather than Xeon processor. Remote management will be available in the form of an optional upgrade for a Remote Lights-out (RILOE) PCI expansion card.
