Update: Microsoft Repeats Lower Court Review Request

Microsoft attorneys petition U.S. Supreme Court to allow a lower appeals court to hear its appeal of antitrust violations regarding the Windows PC operating system.

ENT Magazine's Ted Williams reports that on August 22, and for the second time in two months, Microsoft attorneys have petitioned the U.S. Supreme Court to allow a lower appeals court to hear its appeal of antitrust violations regarding the Windows PC operating system. Microsoft lawyers asserted the need for a thorough review of the ruling.

In June, District Court Judge Thomas Penfield Jackson ruled that Microsoft held monopoly power and ordered the company to split up. Jackson then asked that Microsoft's appeal be permitted to bypass the U.S. Court of Appeals and go directly to the Supreme Court for final review.
