Skype Grows Up

Skype isn't just for pimply-faced teens to talk while playing video games. It is an actual telephony/video service worthy of business. Don't yet believe it? Microsoft's Skype in the Workspace could prove you wrong. This service is just moving out of beta and now has some 500 customers.

Skype is becoming a useful tool for business on its own and through integration with Lync, is a pretty interesting enterprise option.

I have used Skype for several years, while I was unemployed I had a Skype number and used it as a home phone. It always worked awesome on my Macs. Then MS bought it, and slowly, but surely, it has been less and less awesome. We use it occasionally where I work for distance ed, but I tell Mac users connecting together to not bother and just go with FaceTime. Which is, I suppose what MS intends for the future of Skype. I guess I can always say I knew Skype back when it was Skype
