For a limited time, Microsoft offers rapid online support for selected Microsoft products, including SQL Server 2000 and Windows 2000 Server. Cost of support: $99.

You still have time to check out just how quick Microsoft's response is to your most vexing problems for selected Microsoft products. Last month, Microsoft launched a pilot program that offers online assistance via a Microsoft support professional for Office XP, Project, Windows 2000 Server, SQL Server, Visio Professional, among others.

Online assistance costs $99 and is provided in the form of a chat or e-mail response. The program ends its run on Nov. 1. To try it out, go to http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=sz;en-us;
