The Current Ransomware Landscape: A 50-Minute Overview

Date: Friday, July 22nd at 9 a.m. PT / 12 noon ET

We are a little more than halfway through 2022 and we are starting to see some big shifts in the ransomware landscape. The large Ransomware as a Service (RaaS) groups that have been such a big concern for the last two years are starting to fall out of favor, instead we've seen 60 new ransomware groups pop up in the last 6 months. In addition, we are seeing more ransomware than ever out of places like Iran and North Korea. Finally, more "ransomware" groups are moving to an "extortion only" model where they steal files and hold your business hostage, rather than encrypt your data.

What does all this mean; how should organizations adjust their strategy for defending themselves in this new world of ransomware? This presentation will go over the new ransomware landscape and talk about ways organizations can protect themselves from the new threats.
