Storage Management Company Announces NT Initiative

Veritas Software (Mountain View, Calif., www.veritas.com) has announced that it plans to release Windows NT Server versions of several of its enterprise storage management solutions by the end of the year.

Veritas is working on new or improved NT versions of its volume management technologies, backup products, hierarchical storage management products and storage resource management tools.

Microsoft plans to embed disk management technologies based on Veritas' Volume Manager product into Windows NT Server 5.0. This technology will also be released for NT 4 and will be made available for OEM partners to bundle with their server storage and disk array devices. -- Michele Rosen, Staff Reporter/New York Correspondent
