Dynamics CRM Online 2013, CRM Tablet App Released

Microsoft announced this week that Dynamics CRM Online is now generally available.

Dubbed Dynamics CRM Online Fall '13, the hosted version of Microsoft's customer relationship management (CRM) product reportedly began rolling out to datacenters in the Asia and EMEA regions earlier this week. Microsoft's announcement on Wednesday indicates it is now available to all new and current customers worldwide.

Microsoft has previously said that this release of Dynamics CRM Online will have a new licensing scheme. The three-tier licensing scheme is designed to have parity with the licensing scheme of the on-premises version, and each of the three levels will let users access Dynamics CRM via a mobile device for free.

A free 30-day trial of Dynamics CRM Online Fall '13 is available here.

The on-premises Dynamics CRM 2013 product is expected to become generally available sometime this month, though a trial-only download is available here.

Microsoft also launched the Dynamics CRM for Tablets app on Wednesday. Available via the Windows Store and on Apple iTunes, the tablet app delivers part of Microsoft's promise to provide mobile device support with the 2013 releases of Dynamics CRM. The app works with both Dynamics CRM 2013 and Dynamics CRM Online.

Microsoft has previously said that both the on-premises and online versions of Dynamics CRM will come with support for tablets, but that smartphone apps will arrive "shortly after" general availability.

Microsoft's Dynamics CRM 2013 release preview guide (PDF), released in September, provides more details about what's new in the 2013 Dynamics CRM releases. The release guide also notes that there are at least two future Dynamics CRM releases already in the works, code-named "Leo" and "Vega."
