BMC Releases .NET Identity Management Solution

BMC Software announced on Monday the release of BMC Identity Management for .NET, an identity management solution for Microsoft .NET technologies.

The solution’s open architecture layers on top of existing Windows-based IT infrastructure -- such as Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Active Directory Federation Services, Microsoft Active Directory Application Mode, Microsoft Identity Integration Server (MIIS) 2003, and Web services -- and supports industry standards like SAML, SPML and WS-Federation.

Customers using Microsoft Active Directory Federation Services can also federate with partners using the BMC Identity Management Solution for .NET. The solution also enables customers to internally provision to non-Windows-based systems, such as mainframe and Unix systems, by centralizing and unifying the management of user accounts to identify profiles, security polices and business workflow processes across platforms, domains and resource types.

"Working with BMC gives our customers a fully integrated set of solutions to achieve a faster, more secure path to consistent identity management on the Microsoft platform, ultimately helping our customers manage and use identity data to benefit their business operations," said Michael Stephenson, director of the Windows Server and Tools Division at Microsoft. "Microsoft is committed to providing solutions that help customers use and extend .NET technologies. Working with industry partners such as BMC helps us achieve this goal."

"BMC Identity Management for .NET is a key differentiator for BMC in the identity management market," said Somesh Singh, vice president and general manager of BMC’s Identity Management Business Unit. "Regardless of a customer's IT infrastructure and size, identity management is key in ensuring that IT assets are fully aligned with business objectives, and access policies and regulatory compliance requirements are being adhered to in an automated fashion. With this solution, BMC and Microsoft bring together the right blend of technology to unlock the capabilities of enterprise and accelerate the return on investment from their IT infrastructure."

BMC is a Microsoft global ISV and has been a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner for nearly five years.
