System Center Suite Slated for 2005

Microsoft Operations Manager 2005 beat the date in its own name with a release to manufacturing this week and a mid-October general availability date. But the Microsoft management suite that will include MOM, Systems Management Server and some other tools won't arrive until next year.
Microsoft reiterated on Wednesday that System Center Suite won't ship until the first half of next year. Originally the suite had been planned for this year.
The System Center Suite will consist of MOM 2005, Systems Management Server 2003 and a new element called the System Center Reporting Server. SCRS will use SQL Server Analysis Services to act as a data warehouse collecting information from both SMS and MOM and returning reports that integrate the data.
Although MOM 2005 is now out, none of the other components of the suite are available. Microsoft plans to use the as-yet-unreleased Service Pack 1 version of Systems Management Server 2003. The company also wants to include two unreleased SMS feature packs, an operating system deployment pack and a device management feature pack. The System Center Reporting Server, which will be available separately from the suite, also isn't available yet.
