Microsoft Beats Earnings Forecasts

After bell, company announces strong quarter attributed to Windows 2000 and .NET.

After NASDAQ's regular trading session ended on Thursday, Microsoft announced revenues of $6.46 billion for the quarter ended March 31, 2001. The quarter bested the same quarter last year by 14 percent. Net income waws $2.45 billion, or 44 cents a share, which beat forecasts by two cents.
