Hummingbird Launches New BI Platform

Hummingbird Ltd. announced the availability of version 7 of BI/Suite, its query and reporting solution. Version 7 delivers new enterprise functionality to facilitate large-scale business intelligence deployments and features tighter integration with Hummingbird EIP.

BI/Suite 7 features full integration with Hummingbird’s Common Authentication Protocol (CAP) Server, a proxy that provides user authentication against any enterprise security infrastructure, including LDAP, ADS, NIS, NDS, and NTLM, eliminating the need to replicate and maintain duplicate user credentials in the application environment.

Version 7 also delivers data to Palm OS-based databases and reports to Palm OS-based devices. Other new features include an EIP handler that enables Application Collaboration within Hummingbird EIP. Application Collaboration allows applications to interact by having Hummingbird EIP control and link the content between disparate applications.
