Microsoft .NET Servers Extend into Document Management, Collaboration

Tahoe Server offers intranet portal solution using Digital Dashboard for collaboration.

Microsoft recently provided details of a new .NET server product, dubbed "Tahoe," on its Web site. Microsoft calls Tahoe Server an "intranet portal solution" specifically for document management and collaboration. Tahoe will use Microsoft's Digital Dashboard as a collaboration interface, where creation, change notifications, searching, and distribution of documents will be centralized for each user. Microsoft did not specify a release date.
