Intel Introduces New Network Hardware

Adapting to the needs of Internet business, Intel Corp. has introduced a new line of network hardware, the NetStructure family, composed of dedicated hardware for business Internet use.

The individual parts of the NetStructure line sit between the router and the server of a network, performing specific functions to lubricate transactions and queries, and optimize network resources.

The NetStructure 1500 net caching appliance is the only new product in the line. It is designed to minimize the use of bandwidth by storing frequently accessed pages behind the access router. It employs Inktomi’s caching technology, as well as Intel hardware. The other offerings are pre-existing products renamed into the NetStructure product line.
