Reasoning Launches Online QA Solution

Reasoning Inc., a supplier of Web-enabled services for software quality assurance (QA), announced the launch of its enhanced InstantQA Service. The InstantQA Service improves the reliability and time-to-market of e-business applications by combining Reasoning's proprietary automated software inspection technology and QA methodology. InstantQA also leverages Reasoning's Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) techniques.

InstantQA Service can rapidly and accurately scale to inspect applications of various sizes, or set of enterprise applications to locate software defects that may be missed by other traditional QA techniques. This allows companies to reduce the duration and number of expensive test cycles, produce higher-quality software and put that software into production more quickly.

InstantQA Service combines automated software inspection technology with IV&V techniques performed by skilled software quality consultants and engineers in secure Software QA centers. Clients send source code to Reasoning's QA centers via the Internet to facilitate rapid inspections and reporting of software defects found. This process covers 100 percent of the source code, documents defects found, and can document other quality issues to speed the identification and repair of faults. InstantQA Service can be employed before, during or after traditional testing.

InstantQA Service currently supports applications written in C, C++ and COBOL. Support for Java and Visual Basic applications will be added in the first quarter of 2000.
