V Communications, the makers of System Commander, have announced a new product. AutoSave performs continuous automatic file backups. Similar to the automatic save feature in some word processors, AutoSave can save any opened or changed files on your computer to a specified location (preferably a network drive). The program works in the background, monitoring changes, copying changed files to the backup location, and storing it in a compressed fashion. It can maintain multiple versions, providing the ability to undo recent changes if necessary. Handy wizards allow you to backup and restore files from this archive, and an unobtrusive tray icon provides access to the program’s features.
