Compaq Adds to activeAnswers

In June, Compaq Computer Corp. launched activeAnswers, a Web site designed to provide computing services and solutions. And now the company has added five activeAnswers to the site. The subscription-based extranet enables Compaq solution partners, resellers and customers to implement standards-based computing solutions more easily.

The activeAnswers are developed in conjunction with ISVs, and consist of technical information that helps with implementing and deploying the applications. This includes white papers, technical guides, and other tips from the vendors and other users who have already installed the product.

The five activeAnswers added to the site are for e-commerce, Check Point FireWall-1, Oracle Data Mart solutions, Microsoft Exchange server, and Novell NetWare 5.0.

"It is clearly our vision that we’ll continue to populate this site with free and fee-based activeAnswers. Literally, we plan to have hundred’s of activeAnswers for popular and emerging ISVs in the marketplace," says Rick Frazier, vice president of marketing and partnering, enterprise solutions group, Compaq. -- Thomas Sullivan, Staff Reporter/Reviews Editor
