Exchange Conference Back, Build Show Sold Out

One of my fondest semi-early memory of a dedicated Microsoft shows was an Exchange conference in New Orleans, despite the fact that it was mid-summer. A FoxPro event in Orlando was a close runner up because the attendee loved their product so dang much. Foxpro memories welcome at dbarney@redmondmag.com.

It's been 10 years since Microsoft had an Exchange show, but the Microsoft Exchange Conference is back, baby, and will be held late next month in Orlando (my apologies to FoxPro fans but there's nary a track on this old beauty).

Meanwhile, Build, built for developers, is waiting list only and is up in Redmond in late October. Build is all about Windows 8 applications, and I expect this event to jumpstart a pretty cool Metro (oops, can I still call it that?) library.

What was your favorite computer show? Votes and descriptions welcome at dbarney@redmondmag.com.

SpiceWorld is definitely my conference of choice and not just because any trip to Texas from Canada in October is exciting! Any chance I get to hang out with the users from the Spiceworks Community and the staff from the mothership is an opportunity not to pass up.

As a 25+ year attendee of tech trade shows, everything from Gartner MES to Microsoft Fusion events and everything in between (any one remember LotusSphere?) Anyway by for the best is SpiceWorld!

Glenn nailed hid description of SpiceWorld and I agree it is the best conference I have been to. It's the only one that I register for the next year while I am still at the conference. The Spiceworks staff makes all of the employees available for all of us SpiceHeads to interact with. When I say all staff, I mean all staff. It is normal to see Scott Able (Spiceworks CEO) sitting with the SpiceHeads having lunch or involved in a detailed conversation with another during a breakout.

The SpiceWorld conferences are by far the best I've ever attended. I remember Comdex in Vegas and many other conferences but Spiceworks has trumped them all. The attendees are more fanatical about the product than Foxpro developers ever were (and I was one of the Foxpro disciples as well). SpiceWorld is a celebration of everything IT and fills the heads of attendees with info that is relevant and immediately useful. If you get a chance come on down to Austin, Texas in October and we'll make you an honorary Spicehead for the week.
