From the business wires this week: Certiport in China, e-mail spam filters, an enterprise reporting solution and a software/intellectual property protection and licensing key to fight piracy.

Mail2World released two business solutions based on its Pangia Communications Platform: Email FailSafe, a service that ensures e-mail delivery despite in-house system failures, and Pangia Workforce, which extends internal enterprise messaging to employees at remote or mobile locations. http://www.mail2world.net

McAfee’s IntruShield intrusion prevention software has earned an Evaluation Assurance Level 3 (EAL3) certification from the National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) under its program the NIAP Common Criteria Evaluation and Prevention Scheme (CCEVS). The Common Criteria certification recognizes IntruShield’s ability to defend customers against known and unknown security threats. http://www.mcafee.com

SurfControl has made upgrades to three of its products, SurfControl Web Filter 5.0, SurfControl Instant Message Filter 2.5 and SurfControl Mobile Filter. The key enhancements to SurfControl Web Filter 5.0 include a spyware database to track and filter unwanted sites and downloads, and a centralized management console. SurfControl Instant Message Filter 2.5 has expanded support for the newest versions of AOL, ICQ, MSN, Yahoo! and Sametime/AOL (AIM) as well as updated protocols for popular peer-to-peer programs. Businesses can maintain stricter control on their employees’ remote Internet access with the updated SurfControl Mobile Filter. SurfControl Web Filter 5.0 costs $19 per user, SurfControl Instant Message Filter 2.5 costs $9.50 per user, and SurfControl Mobile Filter costs $2,500 for a one-time server fee and $6.65 per mobile user. With an eye on the world’s largest market, Certiport is expanding its network of testing centers into China with its first authorized locations in the Shanghai area. The Certiport China unit will offer certification exams for Microsoft Office Specialist Word and Microsoft Office Specialist Excel version 2002 in Chinese Simplified initially and eventually roll out Internet and Computing Core Certification (IC3) programs. http://www.certiport.com

Updated offerings from Sybari Software include Advanced Spam Manager 8.0 with enhanced sender White-listing, junk mail folder support and spam detection, and Antigen 8.0, which has the ability to manage multiple disclaimers for outgoing mail and aging of records in the Incident Database.
